Imphal: Manipur Federation of Haomee welcomes state government for inaugurating ILP monitoring cell and demanded to publicly highlight the working procedure of identifying native people of Manipur.
Federation of Haomee president Sapamcha Jadumani said President of the country gave his consent on implementation of inner line permit in November 11, 2019.
The President’s consent is going to complete two years but the government has not taken any steps on identifying native people of the state, he added.
In clause 7 of the inner line permit system the native people is not identified properly. How can the native people will be identified? It asked.
People have not enjoyed the benefits to be given to the native people of Manipur which the native people of neighbouring north eastern states including Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland are enjoying under ILP system, it added.
Stating that the state government should highlight the working procedure of ILP monitoring cell and how the cell is going to monitor, the federation asked, how the cell is going to monitor the people who enter the state illegally from Myanmar and Bangladesh.
It said in various places of the state including Jiribam many Bangladeshi muslim who were taking asylum among the people of the state had been detected. There might have some other people who are still undetected. Apart from that, many people from Myanmar are still staying in the hilly regions of Manipur and how the ILP monitoring cell is going to identify them, it added.
Many people sacrificed for the cause of ILP. The state government should provide a full-fledged ILP system in Manipur, it said.
It demanded that the state government should identify the list of native people of Manipur; to felicitate the benefits of ILP system to the people; and take necessary steps to avoid illegal entry in the state.
It also demanded that people from Myanmar, Nepal and Bangladesh who are staying in the state should be identified and made them returned to their origins.
It is necessary for the government to cooperate with the people of the state while monitoring the outsiders and Federation of Haomee trusts the state government that the demands will be fulfilled, it added.
