Manipur secretariat employees association rejects government’s proposal on pay hike

Imphal: Manipur secretariat employees’ association on Friday said the proposal of government in connection with the payment of DA 21 percent is not accepted.

However, the association decided to keep open the chance of negotiation.

A press note issued by president Manipur Government Services’ Federation, M. Rajendra Singh said, with reference to the second round of negotiation held on Thursday in the office chamber of deputy chief minister, Y Joykumar a meeting was conducted at conference hall of secretariat, Babupara, Imphal on Friday.

The meeting resolved the proposal of state government regarding the payment of DA 21 percent in phase wise is not accepted. It also decided that the chance of negotiation will kept open. If necessary the employees are ready to present their proposal to the government, it added.

During the meeting with the deputy chief minister at his office he placed the proposal for payment of DA 21 per cent in phase wise to the representatives. The positive response from the side of the government was made verbally and the representatives had made the proposal into consideration, it said.

The employees associations had earlier that the indefinite cease work strike would continue till their demands are fulfilled.
