Biren invites agitating employee bodies for talks


Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh has invited the representatives of three secretariat employees’ bodies to discuss regarding ongoing indefinite cease work strike on Tuesday.

In this connection, a government letter was issued by the finance department (Pay Implementation Cell) signed by under secretary (FD/PIC) A. Heera Singh addressed to Manipur Government Services’ Federation, Manipur Secretariat Services’ Association and Manipur Secretariat (non-ministerial) Drivers’ Association.

It said the meeting will be conducted at the chief minister’s secretariat on Tuesday at 5 pm. The meeting will be in continuation of the previous meeting held on September 2 with the state finance minister which was failed to bring an amicable solution though a positive response was made verbally from the side of the government.

To make it convenient to attend the proposed meeting on time, the department said the number of representatives in the meeting would be restricted to eight persons.
