MP Sanajaoba gets positive response to his demand to upgrade MUC to central university

Imphal: Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba submitted a memorandum to union education minister, Dharmendra Pradhan demanding to upgrade Manipur University of Culture (MUC) to a central university status on Tuesday and got a positive response.

Sanajaoba made the proposal during a meeting held on Tuesday at the official residence of the Union minister located at 19 Teen Murti Marg, New Delhi.

During the meeting Rajya Sabha MP, Leishemba Sanajaoba Proposed to upgrade the Manipur University of Culture into a central university.

During the meeting Union minister of education Dharmendra Pradhan gave positive response regarding the memorandum that was submitted to him.

If the Manipur University of Culture is upgraded to central university it will the second university of culture next to Utkal University of Culture, Odisha for the country.

Sanajaoba is also going to meet Union culture and tourism minister Kissan Reddy and minister of state for education RK Ranjan.

To promote the places related to indigenous arts and culture of Manipur, state government established MUC in 2015. To upgrade the university into central university level Sanajaoba also tabled the demand as special motion during the recent monsoon parliament session.
Rajya Sabha MP was assisted by vice chancellor, MUC, professor Paonam Gunindro and his media advisor, Maisnam Shivdutta Luwang.
