Assam Rifles celebrates international Literacy Day


​Imphal: Assam Rifles battalions of Churachandpur Sector under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised lectures on the occasion of International Literacy Day in villages of Churachandpur, Bishnupur and Noney districts on Wednesday.

​The awareness drive was conducted to mark the International Literacy Day and educate the populace on the necessity and value of imparting education for a better future and stable society.


Medical aid to snake bite

Khoupum battalion of Assam Rifles extended life-saving medical assistance to a snake bite victim of Upper Ngaryan Village, Noney district on Tuesday.

​A 24-year-old male was bitten by a venomous snake and was rushed by the villagers to Company Operating Base of Assam Rifles at N Khunou village.

The Assam Rifles medical centre immediately rendered life saving medical care to the patient and stabilized his condition. He was further referred to Bishnupur Hospital for further treatment.
