Imphal: Mantripukhri battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) in a joint operation with Manipur Police apprehended two over ground workers (OGWs) of proscribed group National Revolutionary Front of Manipur (NRFM) from Langol Laimanai area, Imphal East district on 09 September.
Based on specific input, troops of Assam Rifles along with Manipur Police launched an operation which led to the apprehension of two OGWs. Both individuals were actively involved in extortion activities on behalf of the proscribed group in Imphal valley, the Assam Rifles said.
Apprehended individuals were handed over to Lamphel Police station for further investigation.
