Assam Rifles organises entrepreneurship workshop

Imphal: Somsai battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S) in collaboration with State Bank of India(SBI) organised a workshop to encourage enterpreneurship for the aspiring pig farmers at Ukhrul on Tuesday.

The workshop to promote commercial piggery was attended by 60 progressive pig farmers from various villages of Ukhrul district. As part of the event, the SBI team and farmers visited Synergy Pig Farms, to understand the fundamentals of pig farming, developed by Koireng Shaiza in Landang village, Ukhrul who undertook on the job training organised by Assam Rifles in November 2019.

At the culminationation of workshop, team of SBI, Somsai briefed the farmers on various subsidized financial assistance extended by banks to piggery sector.

Medical assistance to road accident victims

Troops of Loktak Battalion Assam Rifles turned saviours for the victims of a road accident at Sendra village, Bishnupur District and provided emergency medical aid on Wednesday.

At around 7 am a scooty with two riders skidded on the road bend causing inujuries to both. On receipt of information, a medical team of Assam Rifles rushed to the spot and rendered emergency medical aid to the injured and provided them the immediate medical care at Sendra Company Operating Base.

Assistance in Covid vaccination drive

Khuga Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) provided administrative assistance to CHC Singhat in carrying out mass Covid Vaccination Drive cum Medical Camp at Singhat, Churachandpur district on Tuesday.

The event was organised by District Health Society, Churachandpur. Troops of Assam Rifles assisted the health workers by providing comfortable infrastructure and refreshments to the locals who have come from remote border villages to get the Covid vaccine.

Career counseling to youth

Keithelmanbi Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a motivational lecture and career counselling session for the local youths to join Armed Forces at Thoubal on Tuesday.

The career counselling drive was conducted to guide and motivate the local youths. During the event, the youths were briefed about the type of entries in Armed Forces, educational qualifications, medical and physical standards and necessary documents required.
