Large quantity of different drugs seized in 2 day


Imphal: A joint team of NAB-PS and Kakching District Police including women police arrested two persons from Sugnu Bazaar area and seized 5.684 Kg of Opium from their possession.

The arrested persons were identified as Lheineikim Haokip, 28, wife of Khupminlal Haokip of Theijon Village, Chandel district, at present residing at Gamlem Village, Kakching district and Kimneilhing Khongsai, 41, wife of Lunsei Khongsai of Joupi Village, Chandel district, presently residing at Guthol Home, Kakching district.

They were apprehended on Monday at about 5: 10 pm.

In this regard a case has been registered at NAB-PS.

And on the same day at about 9:10 pm, a team of NAB-PS arrested one person from in front of winger counter at North AOC, Imphal namely, Taj Khan, 20, son of Gulab Hussain of Urup Khunou, Imphal East district, Manipur and seized 1.172 kg of WY (World is Yours) tablets, approximately 10,000 in numbers, from his possession. In this regard a case has been registered at NAB-PS for further investigation.

On te next day, Tuesday, at about 4:00 pm a team of NAB arrested one individual from Pallel near Pallel Lamkhai namely Leivon David, 49, son of late L. Rangmeichung alias Achung of Aimol Khungjai, Tengnoupal district and seized 45 soap cases containing suspected Heroin No. 4 concealed in two charcoal bags, from his possession.

The diesel auto bearing registration number MN 04 D 6095 in which the suspected Heroine No. 4 were concealed and carried was also seized. A case is registered at NAB PS and investigated into it.

Again on the same day at about 4.00 pm, a combined team of NAB-PS and Kakching District Police arrested three persons– Lingunmang Kipgen, 23, son of Henkhomang Kipgen of B. Vengnuom Village, Churachandpur district, Paolensem Haokip, 23, son of Khailam Haokip of Tuibuong Khopineng Village, Churachandpur and Haokholal Haokip, 27, son of late Hingkhojang Haokip from Pallel along Indo-Myanmar road and seized 65 numbers of soap caps weighing about 715 grams of suspected Heroin powder along with one Fortuner Car bearing registration number MNO6L/3270 from their possession.

In this regard a case has been registered at NAB-PS for further investigation, the source said.
