Imphal: Water resources minister Letpao Haokip attended the 3rd Governing Body Meeting of NERIWALM (North Eastern Regional Institute of Water and Land Management) at Guwahati on Thursday.
Letpao met the Union minister of Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Sekhawat, who was the main guest of the event. He pursued the Union minister to release funds ‘in time’ for the various developmental projects related to Water Resources for Manipur state.
Gajendra assured the minister that the ministry of Jal Shakti will ensure smooth release of funds always, and bringing development to the state has always been a priority from the Centre.
The meeting was attended by water resources ministers of all the states of the North East region. NERIWALM is located in Tezpur, Assam and is an Institute under the department of water resources, RD and GB, ministry of Jal Shakti, a DIPR release said.
