5 Covid-19 patients pass away


Imphal: Manipur on Friday witnessed five Covid-19 related deaths and 210 fresh cases while 446 persons were recovered in 24 hours.

The death cases belonged to Imphal West (1), Imphal East (1), Senapati (1), Churachandpur (1) and Kangpokpi (1).

“Out of 5 deaths, 3 persons had co-morbidities, 1 of them had 1st dose of covid vaccine and one of them had 2nd dose of Covid vaccine,” Covid-19 common control room said.

The cumulative number of deaths is 1843, it added.

The positive cases were from Imphal East (43), Imphal West (105), Thoubal (8), Bishnupur (4), Kalcching (10), Ukhrul (11), Churachandptu (4), Chandel (6), Senapati (4), Tamenglong (2), Kamjong (6) Kangpokpi (6) and CRPF (1).

“Today, 179 persons were discharged. They are from home isolation (37), RIMS (9), JNIMS (9), CCCs (95) and CHICs (29). Due to various reasons, 267 persons are reported as discharged cases only today. Therefore, the total number of recovered cases is considered as 446,” the control room said.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,19,445, active cases is 2,029 and the recovery rate is 96.76 percent it added.
