24-hr total shutdown deferred

Imphal: Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the Brutal Murder of Athuan Abonmai has deferred the proposed 24 hours state wide total shutdown September 29 midnight to September 30 midnight ) which was announced on September 25 by the JAC.

The total shutdown was announced in regard to ‘brutal’ murder of Athuan Abonmai.

Convenor of the JAC Majabung Gangmei in a press release said the shutdown is deferred until further notice as requested from Protection and Preservation Committee Manipur and Lamyanba Irabot Ningsing Thouram Observation Committee in order to pay a tribute to Lamyanba Hijam Irabot of 125th Birth Anniversary.
