Biren congratulates Himalayan film festival award winners of Manipur


Imphal: Chief minister N. Biren Singh congratulates the award winners from Manipur in the The Himalayan Film Festival, 2021 held in Leh Ladakh during August 24-28.

“The Tainted Mirror,” a Manipuri short film, produced by Chingsubam Sheetal and directed by renowned filmmaker Romi Meitei won the Best Short Film Award at the festival.

“Samnaba-Merge”, directed by Surjit Nongmeikapam and shot by Tushar Nongthombam won the Best Cinematography Award in the same film festival.

“Be it in the field of art and culture or sports, education or entrepreneurship, Manipur is truly blessed with some of the best talents in the country. I congratulate all the award winners of the Himalayan Film Festival, 2021 and wish them the best in their future endeavours,” Biren writes on his Facebook wall.

Filmmakers from all the Himalayan states/UTs such as Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland were eligible to take part in the contest.
