Protestors demand CM Biren to resign

Imphal: Demanding for justice to the murder of Athuan Abonmai people staged a sit-in in front of his residence at Grace colony, Tarung, here on Saturday.

The protestors demanded Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh to resign.

The government has so far failed to find out the real picture of Abonmai murder. The government must give a written assurance to fulfill the demands of the people by booking the culprits involved in killing him, the protestors said.

Family and relatives of the deceased social leader took part in the protest rally.

Under the umbrella of Joint Action Committee Against the Brutal Murder of Athuan Abonmai people have been demanding the reason of killing Zeliangrong leader Athuan Abonmai.

In the evening a candle vigil protest against the brutal killing of Athuan Abonmai, at Grace Colony, Tarung was staged seeking immediate justice.

The protestors raised slogans “Resign chief minister”, “We want justice”,”Punish the killers”.

Ministry of home affairs had directed the National Investigation Agency to investigate on the murder case of Athuan Abonmai.

The chief minister in a local TV channel said he will be meeting with the JAC soon.
