Employees committee to discuss on 22 points demand

Imphal: General council meeting of joint action committee of All Manipur Trade Unions’ Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees’ Organisation (AMGEO) to be conducted on October 31 to discuss the 22 points of charter of demands thoroughly.

Secretary general of the action committee Laitonjam Biken told reporters here on Wednesday that the decision for calling of the general council meeting was unanimously resolved during the central executive council meeting held on October 9.

He said three enrolled representatives of each affiliative department, employees, teachers, workers and pensioners’ organisation should participate in the meeting.

The general council meeting will be conducted at the office building of JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO located at Babupara near Guest House, Imphal at 11.30 am.

During the meeting various agendas including follow up action ad review of 22 points of charter of demands regarding the improper implementation of the 7th Central Pay Commission in Manipur and others like the new pension scheme. On the same day election of new office bearer and core committee, central executive council for next term will be conducted, he added.

Biken said the committee has been taking necessary steps for the welfare of the employees. He appealed to the employees not to take any sort of unconstitutional steps as it may mislead the activity of the committee to the employees and public.

The representatives who are willing to take part in the general council meeting should inform the committee by October 24, he added.
