12 NPF members, TNL former president join BJP

Imphal: Twelve National People’s Front (NPF) members of Phungyar Assembly Constituency and former president of Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) Hopingson A Shimray joined Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday.

They were received at state party’s office, here in presence of chief minister, N Biren Singh.

NPF is one of the coalition political party of the present government and glad that some of the members of NPF has joined BJP, Biren said.

He appealed the people of Phungyar to join BJP so that more development could bring in at Ukhrul and Kamjong district.

Biren said Kamjong and Ukhrul district are still lagging behind in development as compared with other Assembly constituencies and districts. To bring more development he appealed to the people of the district to enrol to the party. Any individual of can enrol to the party only by giving miss call to mobile number +918980808080, he added.

State BJP president A. Sarda Devi said in the next one or two months BJP is going to allot party tickets for the BJP intending candidates.

She said no political parties other than BJP had been able to brought good relationship among the people of hills and valleys.

BJP co-incharge election, Manipur, Ashok Singhal who is also a cabinet minister of Assam said in the coming state Assembly election BJP will be winning over 40 seats to form an absolute majority government. He said a maximum number of seats will be winning in hill district in the upcoming election.

General secretary organisation, of the party, Abhay Kumar Giri; MP Rajya Sabha, Leishemba Sanajaoba; and state education minister S. Rajen also attended the felicitation programme.
