Lady drug peddler nabbed with Heroine worth Rs 72 lakh

Imphal: Narcotics and affairs of Border (NAB), Imphal East district on Tuesday apprehended one drug peddler along with Heroin powder worth about Rs 72 lakh in international market value.
The drug trader identified as one Sana, 37, wife of Md Ayub Khan of Yairipok Tulihal Toubokpi. She was nabbed from Yairipok Angtha Machin, which is under the jurisdiction of Andro Police station, at about 10.20 am.
Officer-in-charge, NAB, Imphal East, Kh. Devkumar told reporters that acting on a reliable information a team led by him along with women constable and one executive magistrate of Imphal East, Ningthoujam Ratankumar Singh and volunteers of Young Atheletic Development Association conducted frisking and checking in an around Yairopok Angtha near a public toilet.
During the police action Sana was detained. On examination one backpack was detected containing 30 soap cases of Heroin powder weighing about 360 gm (without containers).
The drugs were seized. Sana was arrested in presence of the witness from the spot by observing formalities. She along with the seizures have been handed over to Andro police station for further necessary legal action, Devkumar said.
