WY, Heroin drug traders arrested


Imphal: Kakchung Police commando team of Manipur arrested two drug peddlers along with Heroin powder and suspected WY tablets from Sora Ching Wangma along NH- 102 (Imphal-Moreh) during random frisking and checking on Thursday.

The arrested persons have been identified as one Md Aktar, 26, son of late Md Abdul Haque and Md Samir, 19, son of Abdul Gaffar both from Moreh Ward number 2, Tengnoupal district.

The random frisking and checking was conducted under the supervision of superintendent of police Victoria Yengkhom.

The police team stopped a passenger van coming from Sora bazaar towards Imphal. On examination of the vehicle one green bucket marked as MTC power AP-3 grease was detected. Eleven soap cases of heroin powder weighing about 144 gram and one packet of suspected WY tablets weighing about 1.49 kilogram was found concealed inside the said bucket.

Aktar disclosed the police that he had taken the contraband items from one Khuman of Moreh Ward number 21, Labuk Leikai. He was informed to hand over the said items to one person a Lilong area whose particulars are not mentioned.

The arrested persons along with the seizures have been handed over to Kakching police station for further necessary action, police said.
