Governor Ganesan visits IGAR (S)

Imphal: Manipur governor La. Ganesan on Friday visited IGAR (South), Mantripukhri and laid wreath at the war memorial of IGAR (South) as a tribute to the heroes and departed souls of Assam Rifles.

On Genesan’s arrival, he was welcomed by the Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), Maj General Alok Naresh and his team.

The governor visited Chanakya hall, Helipad and war memorial of IGAR (South). Aged war veterans of Indo-Pak war (1971) and World War II, who once served in Assam Rifles as well as wives and sisters of late riflemen, were felicitated with presents.

Selected meritorious students of class VI to class X of Assam Rifles Public School, Mantripukhri, who performed outstandingly well in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic were also given gifts at Haflong lawn of the IGAR (South).

​The governor also interacted with the officers and troops of the formation and encouraged them to continue their good work and excellent service to the nation.
