Imphal: Keithalmanbi battalion of Asaam Rifles under the aegis IGAR (South) continued with the Swarnim Vijay Varsh celebrations with great fanfare at Keithalmanbi on Saturday.

The victory celebrations at Keithalmanbi resumed on this day with the arrival of Victory Flame at the Dronacharya Hall, where MLA Ngamthang Haokip from Saitu graced the occasion as chief guest.

Commander, 9 Sector Assam Rifles, DIG Central Reserve Police Force, NCC cadets, students from Sainik School, Imphal and local schools also attended the event.

The event commenced with the screening of a documentary on the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War followed by mesmerising dance performances by school children and local folk artists which won the hearts of the audience. Equestrian and weapons displays were also organised.

The chief guest thereafter interacted with ex-servicemen and expressed his gratitude to them for their selfless service to the nation.

The event culminated with plantation of saplings. Over 300 participants attended the event.
