Home department orders to deposit guns to police stations

Imphal: Manipur home department issued an order to surrender or deposit all licensed guns to nearby police station on Monday.

The order issued by deputy secretary (home), Roji Rajkumari said in interest of maintaining law and order in the context of the forthcoming State Legislative Assembly General Election, 2022, it is consideted necessary to deposit all license guns to the nearby police station.

All district magistrates are advised to issue suitable notifications to cause deposit of all licensed guns to the police station concerned at the earliest. Action taken may be furnished to state home department, the order said.
