Imphal: The Khelen Thokchom Trust (KTT) observing 61st Birth Anniversary of Khelen Thokchom on Wednesday announced this year’s theme for Khelen Thokchom Media Fellowship (KTMF).
The anniversary was observed at the home Khelen resided in his lifetime, Sagolband Tera Tongbram Leikai, here.
The trust members, the family members of the late senior journalist, members of Youth Forum and Meira Paibis of Tongbram Leikai were present during the observation.
Floral tribute was paid to the statue of the departed journalists remembering the contribution he made as a journalist.
During the observation the theme of this year’s (2021-2022) media fellowship was announced as “Vanishing playfields of Manipur and its impact on health and sports”.
So far KTT has awarded fellowship to four journalists belonging to different media houses in the state.
In the 3rd edition of the KTMF programme 2020-2021, journalist Ng. Liklaileima of The Sangai Express was awarded the fellowship on the theme “Challenges and opportunities of Urbanisation in Manipur”.
For the first time, the KTT is inviting applications from the intending TV and print journalists having a minimum of three years’ experience in journalism to apply for the 4th edition of KTMF programme.
One journalist each of Television media and Print media will be selected. The selected journalists must report 6 (six) feature stories each, KTT secretary Sobhapati Samom said.
For Television media the fellowship amount will be Rs 30, 000 and for Print media it will be Rs 20, 000, he added.
The applicants should have 3 (three) years of experience in their respective medium as reporter/correspondents/contributor of newspapers/periodicals.
An application along with bio-data, a letter of support from the editor that the output under the fellowship will be published (mandatory for all candidates), one samples of ‘published report’ on sports if any should be submitted to Coordinator, KTMF c/o Pureiromba Enterprises # 7005706997, Konung Mamang (Palace Gate) near Pureiromba Khongnang, Imphal East District – 795 005 (Daily office timing 10 am – 5 pm except Sunday) before December 17, 2021, KTT said.
