Imphal: Following the incident that occurred at Heirok Assembly Constituency in connection with election clash of Monday night, state government has deployed additional security forces in the Constituency to monitor the situation.
Thousl district magistrate had issued an order to impose restrictions under 144 CrPc with immediate effect from October 24 until further order in the entire area of Heirok village.
Sources reported that to monitor and control any unwanted incidents in connection with election clash Border Security Forces, Central Reserved Police Forces and additional forces of Indian Reserve Battalion, have been deployed.
During clash occurred at Heirok Part II, Thokchom Leikai, Thoubal district in connection with upcoming state Assembly election Bharatiya Janata Party worker allegedly destroyed three houses of congress workers of the area on Monday night.
Speaking to media during a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul, Imphal one of the victim family, Thokchom Noren Singh said why the alleged BJP workers intentionally destroyed his house and two other houses of his neighbors.
He said at about 7.30 pm of Monday a call was received from her daughter, Thokchom Supriya, she told him not to come as some people were attacking their house and they were asking for him. So, he did not returned his home. On the next day of the early morning the condition of his house was found miserable. No furniture was ther, utensils were all destroyed and burnt down. He said according to his daughter one Thokchom Dhruba, Thokchom Shamjan and Thokchom Sanbi was involved in attacking his residence.
Noren said as a democratic citizen he hoisted flag of Congress party and some are also hoisting flags of other political parties including BJP. He asked why the intentional attack was done.
Victims of Heirok are unable to disclose any kind of attack due to fear. But he disclosed about the incident as his family do not have anything even their bed have been destroyed by the attackers. The BJP workers will be responsible if any unwanted incident occur to him and his family, he said.
Supriya said, “We are afraid that they may repeat the attack.”
She said pled the attackers to stop destroying their property while her mother fainted. She pled them to save her mother but instead they told him to stay silent. After the incident they found that all the clothes and jewelleries were found missing, she alleged.
