MACS awards media fellowship to Athouba, Keny

Imphal: Dr Kh. Athouba of Hueiyen Lanpao and Ph. Keny Devi of Imphal Free Press have been awarded the 1st HIV/AIDS Media Fellowship 2021-22 by Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MACS).
In a simple contract signing function held on Thursday at old secretariat, Haobam Rosita, MACS project director handed over the contracts to the selected fellows.
During the 5-month fellowship tenure, the fellows will publish eight news stories on HIV/AIDS. MACS will provide an amount of Rs 50,000 each to the fellows.
Athouba is a resident editor with Hueiyen Lanpao and Keny is working as a staff reporter with the Imphal Free Press.
MACS started the media fellowship programme for the first time with an objective to provide a learning opportunity for journalists to experience Inida’s National AIDS Control Programme through various HIV and AIDS prevention and control programmes taken up in the state by MACS, a press release by the state AIDS control society said.
