Foundation stone for water supply scheme laid


Imphal: Agriculture, veterinary and animal husbandry and tourism inister Oinam Lukhoi Singh on Friday laid foundation stone for Augmentation of Wangoi Water Supply Scheme, Augmentation of Thongkhong Laxmi Bazar Water Supply Scheme, Augmentation of Samurou Water Supply Scheme and construction of treatment unit at Paobitek (Z-II).

The scheme was taken up by state PHED under New Development Bank funding.

The water supply scheme is mainly taken up with a vision of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi to provide safe drinking water to every household, Lukhoi said. He assured that through this project safe and clean drinking water will be available for all.

He highlighted various welfare schemes and projects taken up by the government to uplift the lives of the people and for inclusive development.

During the occasion, Chief Minister Gi Halshel Tenbang health card was also handed over to more than 100 beneficiaries.
