Imphal: Power minister Thongam Biswajit Singh on Sunday inaugurated 33/11 kV sub-stations at Wangoi and Yairipok at Irom Siphai, Wangoi.

Power is the most important requirement for a country or a region to become industrialised. Now we will have sufficient and surplus power supply, Biswajit said.

The state now has a capacity of 1000 kV power supply, which is one of the biggest achievements of the present government, he added.

He said despite all the shortages, the two companies Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited and Manipur State Power Company Limited under the government have made many achievements with the little available resources and some help from the ministry.
