IED at residential gate

Imphal: One Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was found planted at the residential gate of one Sanasam Brojendro Singh on Thursday morning at Nungoi Awang Leikai, Imphal East district.

Some morning joggers reportedly found the suspected bomb in front of the residential gate of Sanasam Brojendro Singh, 45, son of S. Juge of Nungoi Awang Leikai, Imphal East in early morning.

A combined team of Lamlai Police station along with Bomb Disposal Squad rushed to the spot and safely diffused the IED which was planted in a black colour can at about 9:35 am. It is reported that the diffused IED weighs about 1.5 kilogram.

Later, the diffused IED was disposed safely to a nearby paddy field of Nungoi Awang Leikai, Imphal East district at about 9:45 am.

It is reported that Brojen is an active worker of former local MLA Ksh. Biren.
