NRFM woman cadre arrested


Imphal: A team of Imphal West District Police commando along with women police arrested one active woman cadre of proscribed underground organisation, National Revolutionary Front of Manipur (NRFM) from Malom Tuliyaima Awang Leikai, Imphal West on Saturday.

The arrested person has been identified as one Khundongbam Rista Devi alias Tombi, 28, daughter of late Kh. Ibotomcha Singh of Malom Tuliyaima Awang Leikai.

According to police she was arrested acting on a reliable information from 16 Assam Rifles and further collaboration with own sources of district commando.

Rista disclosed police that she is an active member of the proscribed underground organisation and working under the command of finance secretary, Nongpoknganba alias Dabalo of the same underground organisation, police said.

She disclosed that on the advice of Nongpoknganba she had served demand letters and extorted huge amount of money from general public, private clinic for their party fund. She revealed that she had received a sum of Rs 10,000 from her commander for their party purposes on November 9 through her cousin brother’s bank account.

One mobile handset was recovered from her possession by the police team.

The arrested person along with the seizure have been handed over to Nambol police station for further necessary action.
