Huge quantity of liquors seized from People Store, 3 nabbed

Imphal : A team of narcotic cell, Imphal West on Tuesday seized huge quantity of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) and distilled indigenous country (DIC) liquor from “People Store”, Sanakeithel road, Thangmeiband, Imphal West.

Three persons were arrested in this connection.

The arrested persons were identified as Salam Deepak, 28, son of S. Santosh Singh of Thangmeiband Khomdram Selungba Leikai; Rolen Golmei,19, son of Rajen Golmei of Nambol Leimapokpam and Tiganglung Reaimei, 19 of Keithelmanbi.

The drive was conducted under the command of officer-in-charge, narcotic cell, Imphal West under the supervision of superintendent of police, Imphal West, S. Ibomcha.

Deepak is the owner of the store where the alcohols were seized, police said.

During the drive 106.08 litres of IMFL with different brands including beer and 18.5 litres of DIC liquors were seized.

The arrested persons along with the seizures have been handed over to excise department for further necessary action, police said.
