Impha: MLA Y. Antas Khan of Lilong Assembly Constituency and Kh. Raghumani, intending candidate of Uripok Assembly Constituency on Tuesday joined BJP in a function held at BJP office, Imphal.
Antas was elected as independent candidate from Lilong Assembly Constituency during the recent Manipur Legislative Assembly by-election held last year. Antas joined the ruling government being independent candidate.
Raghumani is a retired commissioner of state power department. He is intending to contest in the coming state legislative assembly election from Uripok assembly constituency.
Antas and Raghumani joined BJP in presence of state BJP party presiden A. Sharda Devi, BJP Manipur in-charge Sambit Patra, chief minister N. Biren Singh and MP Leishemba Sanajaoba.
National survey team and parliamentary board of the party will decide for party ticket. BJP will be the single largest party in the upcoming election by winning more than 40 seats out of the 60 seats, Biren said.
He said at present there are 30 MLAs of the party who are intending candidate of the upcoming election. The party is also expecting more 10 seats in other Assembly Constituencies, he added.
BJP works irrespective of caste and creed or political party and the party give priority on weaker section for equal development and welfare.
