Assam Rifles foils cross border narcotics trafficking in Manipur

Imphal: Moreh battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S) foiled cross-border narcotics trafficking near Moreh, Tengnoupal district on Friday.

During checking and frisking at Mobile Vehicle Check Post in Moreh, troops of Assam Rifles intercepted an individual moving suspiciously on kenbo bike. On thorough checking, four soap cases of Brown sugar were recovered from the individual, the Assam Rifles said on Sunday.

The narcotics recovered weighed approximately 56 grams and was assessed to be worth Rs 11.2 lakh, it added.

The seized narcotics along with the drug trafficker were handed over to Moreh Police station for further investigation, the Assam Rifles said.
