MU to enew B. Ed entrance test


Imphal: Due to question leakage of the recently conducted B.Ed. entrance examination, the Deans’ Committee of Manipur University (MU) has resolved to conduct fresh entrance examination within 15 days.

Manipur University Registrar in-charge, David K Zote stated this through a press note.

The committee resolved that the members of the committee considered the memorandum submitted by Manipur University Students’ Union (MUSU) and the reports in the local papers regarding the allegation of leakage of question paper for the entrance rest for admission of B.Ed. course at MU.

After in-depth discussion the committee identified some prima facie evidence of the question leakage. The committee also unanimously resolved to cancel the B.Ed. entrance examination which was held on Sunday.

It further resolved that a ‘One Man Fact finding committee’ be constituted to enquiry into the matter which shall submits its findings within 3 weeks, David said.

MUSU submitted a memorandum regarding the alleged question leakage of the said entrance examination to vice- chancellor, Manipur University on Monday.

The student’s union demanded to enquire with a standing committee into the matter to conduct a new entrance test if that issue is genuine and authentic and to take necessary steps against those who are responsible regarding the matter.
