WY worth Rs 5 crore seized

Imphal: Tengnoupal battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S) foiled cross-border narcotics trafficking and recovered World is Yours (WY) tablets at Tengnoupal on Saturday.

During routine checking at Vehicle Check Post, Tengnoupal, troops of Assam Rifles intercepted a vehicle moving from Moreh to Pallel. On thorough checking of vehicle, a bag containing one lakh WY tablets from an individual was recovered, the Assam Rifles said on Monday.

The recovered narcotics is assessed to be of worth Rs 5 crores, it added.

The seized narcotics along with the vehicle and the drug traffickers were handed over to Tengnoupal Police for further investigation, it said.
