48 hrs bandh along National Highway-2


Imphal: Demanding to find out and book the culprits involved in the ‘mysterious’ death of Yumnam Sanjit Singh, joint action committee (JAC) formed against the brutal killing of Yumnam Sanjit Singh called 48 hours bandh along National Highway-2 to begin at 6 am of Saturday.

A press release signed by the convenor of the JAC, N. Gunamani Singh said demanding to find the culprits and book them as per law, the JAC had organised sit-in-protest.

The state government failes to take necessary steps to give justice to the deceased, it added.

As a part of intensified step the JAC resolved to call the national highway bandh.

Further intensive agitation will be in force if the government fails to fulfil the demand till the end of bandh, it added.

Media, electricity, water supply and fire service will be exempted from the bandh, it said.

The JAC appealed to civil society organisations to support the bandh.
