Plea for proper functioning of MSKA

Imphal: The Cultural Workers and Activists Forum (CWAF)Manipur appealed chief minister N.Biren Singh who is also the minister for culture for early completion of the long awaited office cum auditorium of the Manipur State Kala Akademi (MSKA) now stand at the cultural complex,Palace compound,Imphal.
The same office cum auditorium of the State Kala Akademi was kept unfunctional for the last many year which creat many problems to the activities of the Akademi as well to the artist community of the state.
The Akademi also running for last many years without a full time regular secretary, the interview for the appointment of regular secretary was held on July 15, but still the result of the same also yet not declared, CWAF general secretary Rajkumar Sanatomba Singh said in a press release.
The Forum also appealed the concerned authority to declare the interview result and appoint a regular Secretary for smooth functioning of the the Akademi.
The Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA) which is an important national Academy under Sangeet Natak Academy also running without a full time Director for the last many years.The Cultural Workers and Activists Forum Manipur request the governor of Manipur and the chief Minister to do the needful for early functioning of the MSKA office cum auditorium, appointed a full time secretary of MSKA and director of JNMDA in the larger interest of the artistic community of the state, Sanatomba said.
The state government should also support in maintaining the standing halls and auditoriums runs by the cultural organisations in the state, the forum said.
