No music concert, Thabal Chongba

Imphal: Manipur state Executive Committee of the State Disaster Management Authority on Wednesday issued an order restricting music concerts, Thabal Chongba, celebratory feasts, and large gathering of people in enclosed areas or indoor halls.

The order was issued in view of reported increase of infection by the highly mutant Covid-19 variant B.1.1529 (Omicron) in the country.

It said there has been reports regarding likelihood of people gathering in large numbers for celebratory programme.

Night curfew has been imposed during 9 pm to 4 am, with exemption for essential services and medical emergencies.

Wearing of face masks in public places, gatherings and crowded areas is a critical Covid Appropriate Behaviour and it should be strictly enforced and violators to be penalised promptly under relevant rules, the order said.
