Imphal: The apex body of the cultural workers and organisations of the state, Cultural Workers and Activists Forum (CWAF) Manipur, on Wednesday observed its 4th Foundation day at the complex of the Kanglei Mime Theatre Repertory, Langthaban Kunja.
The observance was graced by Impact Television chief editor Rupachandra Yumnam and CWAF president Budha Chingtham as chief guest and president respectively.
It started with one minutes silence in mark of respect to the departed soul of Chingtham Banikanta founder member of the forum who expired last year.
Rupachandra stressed on the need for preservation of the roots of the cultural values of Manipur. He lauded the roles played by the cultural forum during the short span of four years and urged to work as an activism process.
“We need to preserve our rich culture for the future by supporting the cultural practitioners from the state,” he added.
Budha stressed on the need of developing heritage park in the State Manipur though known through its cultural heritage but at the ground the situation is in sorry state which need serious attention of the state government. He also stressed on the need for close collaboration between media and cultural activities in the State.
