32 more Omicron cases confirmed in Manipur


Imphal: With the detection of 32 Omicron variant cases of SARS-CoV-2 in various districts of the state, the total number of Omicron cases in the state stands at 39.

This was informed in a press statement released on Monday by state health director Dr K. Rajo.

As the Omicron variant is spreading very list in various countries, all are advised to adhere to Covid appropriate behaviour and vaccinate fully. Masks have been found effective against all variants of Covid-19. “Be alert and do not panic,” he added.

Manipur Covid-19 common control room on this day said 235 persons were confirmed positive at the positivity rate of 11.9 percent. No Covid related death case was reported.

The fresh cases belonged to Imphal East (65), Imphal West (102), Thoubal (12), Bishnupur (7), Kakching (10), Kangpokpi (4), l(amjong (1), Tamenglong (1), Tengnoupal (1), Jiribam (2), Senapati (6), Chandel (5), Churachandpur (4) and 15 (CRPF).

All necessary medical pre-cautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the control room said.

The cumulative number of deaths remained at 2015 and that of positive cases was 1,27,493. The number of active cases was 1457 and the recovery rate is 97.28 percent with the recovery of 60 Covid patients.

Covid Hospital Bed status
The number of doses of Covid-19 vaccine administered on Sunday was 1881. The cumulative doses was 2387436 (1st dose of 1361821, 2nd dose of 1019550 and precautionary dose of 6065).
