Imphal: Under E-Municipality as a service E-MASS of AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation), three online services including ‘Booking and Payment of Desludging Tanks’; ‘Registration of Birth’ and ‘Registration of Death’ were launched on Tuesday at City Convention Centre, Imphal.
On the occasion, commissioner (MAHUD), M. Joy Singh, director (MAHUD) Robert Kshetrimayum, senior technical director and SIO, NIC, Manipur Laishram Shyamjit Singh, consultant ( MAHUD) Nepram Gitkumar Singh and chief town planner/ state mission director ( AMRUT) Yumnam Narmada Devi, town planning officials, staff of the urban local bodies, representatives of municipal councils were present.
Joy said the launching of the three online municipal services will bring more transparency in work as it avoids middleman. It will save time and effort of citizens as well as service provider since it will work for 24 X 7. It will create more revenue to the government, there will be no difference for distance as an individual can apply from his/ her home, People will no longer need to physically visit the office, he added.
Commissioner (MAHUD) expressed his desire for implementation of online service for ‘Registration of Shops and Establishment’ in the near future as it will help a lot to shop owners as well as to the people since urbanization is rapidly expanding.
The services can be availed from the Service Plus website (serviceonline.gov.in). Registration (new user) can be done to apply for the desired service. Any citizen who wants to avail the services can create their account and apply for the offered services. Opening User’s account not only helps in applications but also helps in knowing the service status. The online services have been developed by the National Informatics Centre, Manipur under the funding by the ministry of housing and urban affairs. These online services were developed by using the Service Plus Application of NIC, Delhi.
