Manipur pays tribute to Netaji

Imphal: Observing the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose rich tribute was paid to the great leader at the Indian National Army (INA) memorial complex, Moirang in Bishnupur district of Manipur where the Tricolour flag was hoisted for the first time by the INA.
Floral tribute was paid to the statue of Netaji. Cultural performances of Lai Harouba, martial arts, Basanta Raas and creative music presentation were the main highlights of the observance.
State art and culture commissioner M.Joy Singh recalled the great contributions of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose in the freedom struggle of India. He narrated Netaji’s bright academics journey before joining politics.
“Netaji is one of the imminent freedom fighter of India who missed the Joy of India independence, and we are fortunate to associate in the observance of his birth anniversary,” he said.
Art and culture director L.Kishorjit stressed the need to take forward the objectives and sprits of the great freedom fighters.
The observance concluded with the mesmerising music performance presented by the international acclaimed music band Rhythms of Manipur.
Information and public relations director H.Balkrishna also took part at the observation.
