Indefinite drivers’ strike called off


Imphal: Oil tanker drivers’ indefinite steering down strike, called in connection with the recent attack on oil tankers, has been called off immediately as consumer affairs, food and public distribution minister assured to find out security laspes and to take up suitable action against the concern officials.

The strike began on Friday.

A press release issued by general secretary of All Manipur Petroleum Products Drivers Association said the ongoing agitation has been called off by All Manipur Petroleum Products Drivers Association and All Manipur BULK LPG Drivers Association.

It expressed its gratitude to other associations namely All Manipur Petroleum Products Transporters Association; All Manipur BULK LPG Transporters Association; Manipur Petroleum Retail Outlet Dealer Association (IOCL/BPCL/HPCL/NAYAR ENERGY limited) and all other associations for giving moral support to the agitation.

It also apologised for the inconveniences caused to the public of the state.
