15-days workshop on Langden concludes


Imphal: A 15-day workshop on Langden Drum of Manipur organised by the Rhythms of Manipur one of the rare music institutions, started from 27 January concluded today at the Manipuri Jagoi Marup complex Lamboikhongnangkhong, Imphal West.

Vice president of the Rhythms of Manipuri Aribam Shyamacharan Sharma attended the closing day of the workshop. Altogether fourteen ladies drummers from different districts of Manipur: Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Kakching and Jiribam districts and one British lady Jean Elizabeth Holding attended the Workshop.

A six-minute music composition was also presented by the workshop participant on the closing day of the workshop. It may be here that the Rhythms of Manipur established in 1985 performed all over India and many countries and regularly organised music workshops and festivals.
