BJP government will continue in Manipur: Himanta Biswa


Imphal: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said it is 100 percent sure that Bharatiya Janata Party government will continue in Manipur.

Manipur Legislative Assembly election will be conducted on February 28 and March 5.

The Assam chief minister was speaking during flag hoisting cum one day political meeting held at the residence of works minister Thongam Biswajit Singh who is also BJP candidate for Thongju assembly constituency on Wednesday.

He said BJP is targeting for 40 seats however. Together with JD(U) and NPF which support BJP a total around 50 seats will be won.

Sarma said with the improved two highways of Manipur including Imphal-Jiribam road and Imphal-Dimapur road the issue of frequent economic blockade on the national highways have been solved.

BJP government also implemented inner line permit in Manipur which was a long demand by the people of Manipur, Sharma said.

Biswajit has been giving enormous contribution for the welfare of Manipur and BJP government, he added.

In Assam there were only six medical colleges however with the coming of BJP government in Assam the medical colleges have been increased to 26. Even in some years metro train will be introduced in Assam. The developments were brought under the leadership of Narendra Modi where similar development could be brought in Manipur if people support the Modi government, Sarma said.

He asked the people to give 90 percent votes for Biswajit.
