Manipur bags 2nd position in quiz


Imphal: Manipur boys Tensubam Nandakumar and Phijam Bijenkurmar of DM College of Arts Imphal stood 2nd Position in the Eastern Regional Red Ribbon Club (RRC) Quiz Competition held in Kohima on Thursday.

They shared prize with West Bengal after scoring same points even after two rounds of tie-breakers.

The competition was organised by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society. Nagaland, Meghalaya and West Bengal were the other teams participated in the competition. Dr K. Vikato Kinimi, Director (H and FW) and project director, Nagaland State AIDS Control Society graced as chief guest.

Manipur boys were qualified for the competition after securing 2nd position in the Sub-Regional RRC Quiz held on January 4 at Kolkata.

The Manipur team was selected after district and state level RRC quiz competitions organised by Manipur State AIDS Control Society in October 2021. During the competitions 80 students from 40 colleges have participated in the district and state level competitions.

The winning team from the regional level will further participate in the National level competition to be held in March 2022.

The Red Ribbon Club Quiz is an annual event organised by State AIDS Control Societies across the country and at the national level, National AIDS Control Organisation organised the competitions.
