Imphal: Two militant groups which are under suspension of operation (SoO) have resolved to support all the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
Kuki National Organisation (KNO) president PS Haokip which is a SoO underground organisation mentioned that with the ongoing dialogue between KNO and Government of India and ruling BJP leadership have promised swift settlement of Kuki political aspiration.
Union home minister Amit Shah have also announced the same in a public address on February 23 at Churachandpur public ground.
It said KNO have resolved to extend support to all the BJP candidates for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
KNO appealed to all the chiefs, civil society organisation leaders and all voters to support BJP candidate in all KNO operational areas. It cautioned that any person or organisation acting contrary to the appeal will be deemed acting against Kuki interest.
In another press release issued by joint secretary, United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF), T James said with the same reason UKLF have resolved to extend full support to BJP candidates in Tengnoupal and Chandel assembly constituency for the election.
The underground outfit appealed all the village chiefs, CSO leaders and all voters to support BJP candidates in Tengnoupal and Chandel assembly constituency in UKLF operational areas. It cautioned any person or organisation acing contrary to the appeal will be taken as against to Kuki interest.
