Union minister Ranjan fails to land at Noney


Imphal: While BJP led N.Biren Singh government claims that the relationship between hills and valleys has been improved with better of law and order, Union minister of state RK Ranjan’s chopper could not land at Longmai Church Fellowship ground Longmai as people set fire on the  helipad.

In a video clip circulated on social media, some people set up fire on the helipad when the chopper was about to land.

It was also seen that some of the police personnel did not try to stop those people from setting up the fire. In front of the police personnel one person was seen continuing to put things on the fire.

The chopper was seen diverted and flew away.

General secretary BJP Nungba Youth Mandal, Shangruh Gangmei in a press release mentioned that it is very unfortunate that chopper was disturbed from landing suddenly at LCF ground Longmai-I by few Congress supporters, women folk, relatives of Gaidon Kamei despite taking permission from authority concerned.

RK Ranjan was to attend a public meeting of BJP candidate, Dinganglung Gangmei at Longmai-3. In order to avoid violence, the BJP workers and supporters were persuaded to restrain from confrontation. The BJP mandal tender apology to the Union minister of state regarding the incident.

Demanding that the police and district administration of Noney should take appropriate action, the BJP Nungba mandal have submitted all relevant evidences.

It appealed the party leader and higher authority to take necessary action against Gaidon Kamei for his anti-party activities and for endangering the life of the Union minister of state and his entourage.

Gaidon Kamei was one of the BJP ticket rejected aspirant candidates of Nungba Assembly Constituency.

Despite the incident the public meeting was conducted with BJP candidate, Dipu Gangmei and party leader at Longmai-3 as scheduled.

BJP Nungba Youth Mandal appealed the BJP workers and supporters to remain calm and restrain from violence.
