Joykisan elected as JD (U) legislature leader, supports BJP in Manipur government formation

Imphal: The Janata Dal (United) has elected Khumukcham Joykisan Singh, Thangmeiband Constituency MLA as the leader of Legislature Party of JD(U) in Manipur.

He was elected as the Legislature leaders in the presence of Afaque Ahmad Khan, national general secretary, in-charge North-East, Senchumo Nsn Lotha, convenor, North East Executive Council, JD(U) and Aneel Ilegde, National Returning Officer, JD(U).

The JD(U) is also selected Ngursanglur Sanate, as the deputy Leader of Legislature Party of JD(U) and Mohd. Abdul Nasir as the Chief Whip of the JD(U).

“In the interest of the people of Manipur, the JD(U) has decided to give support to the BJP in the formation of the government,” the JD(U) national office secretary said on Saturday.

The JD(U) appeals to the BJP to honour the mandate reposed on the party and fulfil the hopes and aspiration of the people of Manipur.
