Nothing was discussed on state BJP legislature leader issue: Biswajit

Imphal: “Nothing was discussed regarding selection of state BJP legislature leader, however, the meeting with central leaders was to celebrate the victory of BJP in the recent election of Manipur,” MLA Th. Biswajit said on Thursday.

Biswajit was talking to reporters at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport on his return from New Delhi after meeting the central leaders at New Delhi.

The parliamentary board and central leaders will be announcing the state legislature leader, he added.

He said the news on national media that went viral was published or broadcast might be in speculation and based on that speculation some of the party members celebrated at state party office. However, as the news was in speculation the celebration was stopped, he added.

He said parliamentary session is continuing and due to the reason selection on legislature’s party leader is taking time.

Biswajit said regarding the legislature’s leader the state will follow the instruction given by the Prime Minister or party leaders.

Caretaker Nongthombam Biren Singh, state BJP president A. Sharda and Biswajit went together in a same charter flight. However, Biswajit came early in a separate Indigo flight.

Biswajit said there is no issue on returning in different flight but it is due to unavailability of flight ticket and due to some personal purpose, he came early in a separate flight. There is no issue inside in selection of BJP legislature leader.

Their is no groupism among the BJP elected representatives, he added.
