Assam Rifles foils timber smuggling

Imphal: ​Shangshak battalion of Assam Rifles under aegis of IGAR (S) foiled timber smuggling in General Area Koshu  of Kamjong district on Monday.

The Assam Rifles troops recovered a loaded vehicle along with three other persons while smuggling contraband timber near Koshu Village.The timber was evaluated to be  of worth Rs 64 lakh.

The timber along with apprehended smugglers and vehicle along with driver were handed over to Forest department, Kamjong for further legal action.
