‘Manipur Shiv Sena suspects hidden agenda on silent of central government over SAPO indefinite bandh’

Imphal: Shiv Sena Manipur asks if there is any hidden agenda of central government as it still ignores the indefinite bandh imposed by Southern Angami Public Organisation (SAPO) for nearly 10 days along National Highway-2.

Shiv Sena state president M. Tombi made the statement to media persons here on Tuesday.

Tombi said for the last decades most of the organisations including insurgents based on Nagaland have been disturbing at the national highways connecting Manipur which are the lifelines of the people here. Those organisations had been harassing the people of Manipur by using national highways as their tools in their vested interest. He said the indefinite bandh of SAPO was imposed along the highway demanding to withdraw the armed personnel and to remove permanent structures from Kezoltsa since March 21.

Why has the central government been? It is suspicious that there might have some hidden agendas behind the indefinite bandh of SAPO, Tombi said.

While Indo-Myanmar border issues remained unsettled, another issue of SAPO has been raised,  he said and urged the central government to look into the matter seriously and to form a suitable policy to avoid similar issues in the near future.

Tombi said national highway is not only for the people of Nagaland or Manipur but it is for the entire country. He opined the central and state government to upgrade the national highway Imphal-Jiribam at top standard class and by deploying adequate number of highway protection force along the highway so that people of Manipur could avoid similar threat or harassment in future.

State Shiv Sena strongly condemned the act of SAPO and must withdraw the indefinite immediately.

Tombi appealed the people of Manipur not to sideline the issue to state government only. Time has come for all the people of Manipur to cooperate each each, he added.

State Shiv Sena will never compromise a single inch of land of Manipur. Armed personnel and permanent structures constructed and deployed at Kezoltsa belongs to Manipur, he said.
