Intensified mission Indradhanush IMI 4.0 to begin on April 4


Imphal: In order to ensure that all children gets vaccinated, 2nd round of Intensified mission Indradhanush 4.0 (IMI 4 0) is set to begin from 45 April which will continue every day for 1 week.

This was declared by state Immunization officer Dr T. Manihar Singh on Thursday.

Immunization against different diseases is carried out at particular age of a child and is of outmost importance. Vaccination protects our children from life threatening diseases such as Poliomylitis, Hepatitis, Measles, Tuberculosis, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, pneumonia, Japanese encephalitis etc, Manihar said.

Under IMI.4.0 every children within the age group of 0-2 years and pregnant women can avail life-saving vaccines.

The Directorate of Health and Family Welfare requests all parents who have children less than 2 years of age and have not been vaccinated and pregnant women not vaccinated, to avail age appropriate vaccines at the health facilities nearest to you. Plans are also made to provide vaccination near to you through outreach and mobile teams, he said.
